《诗(shi)》云:"瞻(zhan)彼淇澳(ao),侵疋(ya)⑩。有斐君子,如切如磋,如琢如(ru)磨。瑟兮(xi)兮,赫兮暄兮。有斐君子,终不可召猓""如(ru)切如磋"者,道(dao)学也(ye)。"如琢如(ru)磨"者,自修也(ye)。"瑟(se)兮兮"者(zhe),恂也(ye)。"赫兮喧(xuan)兮(xi)"者,威仪也。"有(you)斐君(jun1)子(zi),终不(bu)可(ke)召"者,道(dao)盛德至善,民之(zhi)不能忘(wang)也(ye)。《诗》云:"于戏前王(wang)不忘!"君子贤其贤而亲其亲,小人乐其乐而利其利,此以没(mei)世不(bu)忘也。《康诰(gao)》曰:"克明德。"《大(da)甲》曰:"顾天之明命。"《帝(di)典(dian)》曰:"克明峻德(de)。"皆自明也。汤(tang)之(zhi)《盘铭(ming)》曰:"苟(gou)日新,日日新,又(you)日新。"《康诰》曰:"作新(xin)民(min)。"《诗》曰:"周虽旧邦(bang),其命惟(wei)新。"是(shi)故(gu)君子(zi)无所不用其极。《诗》云:"邦(bang)畿(ji)千里,惟民所止(zhi)。"《诗》云:"缗蛮黄(huang)鸟,止于丘(qiu)隅(yu)。"子曰:"于止(zhi),知其(qi)所止(zhi)。可以人而不(bu)如鸟乎?"《诗》云(yun):"穆穆(mu)文王,于缉熙敬(jing)止!"为人君,止于仁;为(wei)人臣,止于敬;为(wei)人(ren)子,止于(yu)孝;为(wei)人父,止(zhi)于慈(ci);与(yu)国人交,止(zhi)于信(xin)。子曰:"听讼(song),吾(wu)犹人(ren)也。必也使无讼(song)乎!"无情者不得(de)尽其(qi)辞(ci),大(da)畏(wei)民志。此谓知本。
